The words drift pass his ears
His mind is too full to take anymore
His eyes drift aimlessly into the dark
No sleepA prisoner of consciousness
Never stops thinking-but his mind is always blank
Staring into space?
Exploring the universe?
He sits alone, barely existing
Filling his lungs with empty breaths
Drained of feeling
Except that of the weight on his shoulders
His back has reached the breaking point
With one more straw, it finally gives
Sleep floods his body, washing him out to sea
Luring him deeper and deeper into the abyss
The blade hits the floor as his body goes numb
He is gone
Exploring the universe
Life flows from his body like a glistening stream
His final breath releases him from his prison
Darkness envelopes his body
Silence.

Forever changing
But always the same
I cried from dusk
until morning cameWith broken heart
And shattered soul
I grasp at emptiness
To make me whole
Tears that sting my tired eyes
Hope that fades with every drop
Slowly evaporating from my life
A shortness of breath I cannot stop
A crying child on a concrete floor
Waiting to be saved
I grew old and no one came
Now I’m forever changed.

A slight sting
A small trickle
A deep breathe
And a stifled tearA wet blade
A red arm
A total relief
Of pain and fear
I disappear from my life
And travel somewhere surreal
Where I am in control of me
And my ears are distanced from his screams
The sting fades
The blood dries
My chest tightens
And my eyes dry
My friends see
And hold me
And wipe the blood
As they cry
I go home
The scars show
But only to me
Underneath my long sleeves
I am ugly
Covered in small reminders
Of shattered hopes
And fallen dreams
The next day
I wake up
And go to school
So everyone can see
The perfect little girl
Happy as can be
With a perfect little life
That will soon destroy me.
