ONE

Though here I smoulder
in the ashes of our last embrace
with a trepidation well beyond my years
parts of me lost to another time and place.
The moonlight shimmered through the glass
Picasso silhouette of your perfect ass,
and the heat of midsummer flatlands
reduced to the passion of our sweaty bodies.
Pushing and pulling
Scratching and biting
Grasping for each moment
as if it were the last.
Twisted and tangled limbs
slipping in and out of touch
In the presence of your wonderland
I forgot I had a name.
Yesterday would only cloud my vision
and Tommorrow I had failed to hold
Just the rythym of our flailing flesh
and the shadows they had borne.
And I watch the embers lose their glow
Our last embrace my Love I must let go
though more than I could ever know
woven into the fabric of my being.
