Life has its surprises*

THIS POEM HAS BEEN DELETED - MAY BE FOUND ON THE WEB
BY SEARCHING FOR POEMS BY JAMES T. ADAIR

They entered the vast chocolate shop
like little children, taking in the sights and smells
put your nose next to a chocolate bar and inhale!
Mix in a scent of vanilla wafting through the air
and some peppermint too!
Large chocolate Easter bunny's everwhere
The chocloate workshop visibile through doors lining the store
In the center aisle his eyes focused on a huge fluted glass vase
with a matching glass top....the vase filled
with brightly colored foil wrapped chocolate Easter eggs
There were samples of chocolate bark, pretzel bark
chocolate squares with almonds and they sampled them
with the same glances to each other
as bandits knowing their bank heist is going off without a hitch
He whispers to her, "over here" and they spy the motherlode:
samples of large, fresh, milk-chocolate covered pretzels
which they gobble up discreetly
Feeling guilty they make a small purchase consisting of
chocolate covered raisins and small chocolate covered coconut eggs
and they walk out to the car, happy and disbelieving the whole thing
But the day would be remembered not for this...but for tears and hurt
