""The fifth season starts with an enjoyable episode with a mostly-satisfying conclusion, though the writers played a little fast with the clues tonight.Lou, a thirty seven year old female, is admitted to House's service for what at first appear to be psychiatric symptoms. She works as the assistant to a high profile feminist activist and travels around the world at her boss’s side. In the middle of a meeting, Lou suddenly began to hallucinate ants crawling all over her body. Other admitting symptoms convinced the team that her problem was not psychiatric; she was also found to have abdominal pain, anemia, bradycardia (an abnormally slow heart rate), and some memory loss. Various diagnoses were suggested: an infection she obtained while traveling (but she didn’t have a fever), amphetamine abuse (drug screen was negative), vitamin B12 deficiency, and an insulinoma (an insulin secreting tumor). House felt that the labs were most consistent with B12 deficiency and ordered a B12 injection for Lou.
While Thirteen was administering the shot, Lou complained of fecal incontinence, but Thirteen discovered that she had instead passed a large amount of blood. Upper and lower endoscopies were normal and no source of bleeding could be found. Her pregnancy test came back positive, but when Kuttner performed a uterine ultrasound, he was unable to find a fetus. The team now considered the diagnoses of choriocarcinoma (a tumor that secretes βHCG, the “pregnancyhormone”), immunoglobulin A deficiency, and βHCG injections (injections of the “pregnancy hormone” would give a false positive pregnancy test). Housedisagrees with all three possibilities and reveals that the patient has an ectopic pregnancy (a pregnancy outside of the uterus). It has implanted in the intestine, and this is causing her bleeding and other symptoms. The fetus cannot survive where it is, and is a threat to Lou’s life, so Chase has to surgically terminate the pregnancy."""

"""Jillian Michaels is using a very effective approach to weight loss: interval training. If you train as hard as you can for a minute or two, and then take the leveldown for a few minutes, and then back up again--your body will default to the higher calorie burning level. (Maybe we really are running from a sabertoothtiger. Let's keep it up.)
I really like Zumba video. I can tell the exercises are working. I had a baby a few months ago so this video is not easy for me. It challenges me without being too hard and discouraging me. Jillian's instruction style is nice. She seems friendly without being sunshiny and annoyingly perky. She offers encouragementwithout sounding phony. She acknowledges some of the moves are tough and if one is too difficult she shows a modification. In short Zumba is a good workoutwith an instructor that doesn't inspire me to throw things at the TV! Every exercise professional that I can think of, whether it's Bryan Kest and Shiva Rea carefully placing a foot or a hand before putting weight into a difficult yoga pose, Joseph Pilates and the slower speed required by springs, or even the followersof Ken Hutchins (super-heavy, super slow), would tell you to avoid weight and speed. ""Week in, week out, Criminal Minds is a good show although predictable. There is always the same FBI team which flies off to some state to solve some grislycrime, often of a serial killer. It has been this way since day one of the series. The only big change was in swapping the leads so that we have had Joe Mantegna for several seasons now instead of Mandy Patinkin.
However, JM has never really become the lead, which is surprising since he is the only actor on board with really strong acting credentials. The intent is thus to keep this an ensemble piece although I really wish they would rev up the tension by using such an A list actor to the full extent. Watch JM as the lead in the Mamet film HOMICIDE and see what he is capable of when fully utilized. After seeing that film, this show will then seem incredibly watered down in comparison. As it is, the dramatic tension comes entirely from the case of the week and none of the weekly regulars.
Nevertheless, I do admit to tuning in each week. I do like the cast and enjoy their solving each week's mystery. Is this riveting tv fare? No.I think it is more difficult to find riveting tv on network these days, and that's what this show is, whereas cable channels are the ones turning out the harder hitting shows such as BREAKING BAD or DEXTER. Those are the shows getting my 5 stars. """

"""While the illustrious boss-man -- AKA Joel Keller -- is off at the TCA Tour stalking creator Bill Lawrence, I have the honor of stepping in and looking at the latest episode of Scrubs. J.D. returned this week, and the opening sequence slipped back to having him hang the final x-ray, rather than Lucy, who took over the last couple of episodes.
With J.D. back, the silliness between him and Turk returned as well, but it didn't dominate the episode as it so often has in the past. It was also nice to see the old Elliot in full neurotic meltdown mode. Plus, the scene at home where she was scarfing down her meat salad instead of making sweet love to J.D. was almost too authentic to real life with a pregnant woman. It was nice to see J.D. being supportive, if frustrated. And at least Cox is there to support his neediness.
That said, I enjoyed the play between Cox and Denise this episode. Her suggestion of how to keep Jordan from getting Cox's favorite recliner (dead bird under the cushion) was great. It is great to see that the writers have transformed what was a fairly one-dimensional character last season in Denise and transformed her into a fully fleshed out character, while maintaining that hard-ass edge that defined her caricature."""
