I stand alone in the middle of the field
Watching and waiting for it to come
I watch the mountains, each one in turn
Then my eyes find what I'm looking for
The rain is pouring down on the roof
I can hear it from there the smell of a storm is in the air
hear the thunder see the lightning so bright
I think I might go blind on the news on the weather
I don't know how and I don't know why,
but you are stealing my heart the way lightning steals the sky.
There is a storm brewing on the rocky cliffs of my heart
and it would destroy me if we had to be apart.
As the rain falls down the cars ride the town. There's a girl that sits inside her window putting on a frown. That girl sits still and on her desk she writes. She thinks of you and looks to see if you're still out of site.
A storm is coming and no one knows.
A storm is coming from the south to the north, east to the west.
A storm is coming and no one will be left.
A storm is coming, who will stay, who will live to see another day.

My gentle waves of love shall never sleep,
upon that island which you call your bed;
you'd be surprised the secrets I would keep,
loose ships sink ships, I'd harbor them instead.

Your words go on like the thunder not knowing when i will crumble,
your eyes like a flash of ligthning glaring at me i can only blink,
thinking of ways to make things better,
i understand if you blame for trying,

Trust is something that is very little these days
But it is something that always seems to stand in my way
I feel without trust there is no love
So I protect myself like a hand inside a glove
