My knees melt, then collapse and I fall.
To my side I notice; a lone rose stands.
I clench it by the stem; the thorns dig deep;
I take the pain and then I understand.
I'm intoxicated by that sweet something,
How the air, it seems to stink of it.
My lungs grow heavy as they breathe it in,
And my mind spins out, high on the scent.
