 | this is a poem i wrote for a school project.. it has two parts and is a
story written from two different characters views... read the gift,
then the gift 2
busy city streets, echoes of the masses feet everybody's rushing, she can feel their bodies heat coming from the candy store to this day she cant remember what she went in for
she can only remember that face of the man that pushed her from that place he saved her life and paid the price she can't understand why he did something so nice
as realization comes and people run from their homes she rushes to the scene thinking this is a horrible thing
she knows he isn't going to live he says it was his to give he had a kid once, their all gone now for his life no lasting impressions has he left, nothing to show
now he says he feels fulfilled something will be left over when he leaves this world he says these last few years have been so hard no one there, no on Christmas, nor his birthday, never in the mail a card
he says its all right now he finally lets his pain show as his eyes close and snow falls it seems time stalls
sitting in a rocking chair now she has silver hair the impact on her life, his final act she spent her life trying to find the facts
she found a life of pain that man lived through things that would drive her insane yet on he went and when he saw that young girl knew the pain her parents would feel, so he gave up his world
he doesn't know he left a lasting impression she passes it on every session she was a teacher, my how the years have gone she gives every student that bit of wisdom, everyday find something and pass it on
but now its the end sitting in her room, together with all her friends down below in the city, everyone rushes by echoes of the masses feet, they don't realize how time flies
one in the crowd, walking, talking taking everything in used to rush around, bustling and pushin then she had a teacher gave her a lesson to learn life is a gift rarely given twice, amazing how much she learned | |
