nowhere to run

Something inside has died
with all the tears I've cried
My heart dreams of running away
But something makes me stay

Is it my sense of obligation
or just my sad resignation
I little know or understand
why I dream of walking hand in hand

A sweet little angel in the back of my mind
an eternal companion and lover I hope to find
To be my trusted and constant friend
Intent to help this broken heart mend

I'm lost in-between
In sadness unseen
a lonliness that I try to bear
because others still need my care
