My dreams are now simple
and feel so clear and pure
I can't hold on without you near
I pray my lonliness you cure

If I could hold you close
and feel your heart beat with mine
Just one time
I know your door wouldn't close

Because I won't run and hide
and make you follow and seek
I'm to weary and too weak
and just survive from week to week

Lonliness can strike in any season
without any rhyme or reason
and lock you inside a dark prison
even though the sun has arisen

But if your hand upon my back you place
or kiss me good morning upon my face
I would smile a sigh of relief
from my inner longing and grief

Becasue just to know you care
and your heart was always there
that our souls were meant to share
would be an answer to my prayer

Though we haven't spoken
for a long time now it seems
I miss you, I wish you knew
and meet you in my dreams

And if my heart had wings to fly
I'll jump to the sky if fate would allow
I'd fly quickly to your window
and you'd let me in somehow

But now is dark inside
and flight seems far away
My hope is broken, my spirit weak
and dreams of love are falling by the way

As sadness and lonliness entwine
Like weeds that strangle light away
and shed dark resignation and hoplessness
day upon each dreary day

But thoughts of you pull at me anyway
because with you my heart feels meant to stay
and fights to keep your memory safe with me
through yet another endless lonely day
