I called out to God
From under the burden I bore.
I reached into emptiness
Expecting much more.
Ah! The moment is near, yet why dost thou fear?
Art thou afraid to be thought of as queer?
Pay no heed to thine imagined sorrow,
For all was conceived in worry and fear.
This pain within me is persistent
It never lessens in the least.
These tears fall because you’re distant
As a river, dammed up, released.
