I am a young mexican-american girl, born in Texas and I've always expressed myself through writing. I don't think its a passion as much as it is a necessity. Its like breathing and walking for me. I have been able to channel most of my emotions through writing and I believe I developed this as a defense mechanism from a very young age and its a lot more common than I thought.
