The Dance

Do you see the children looking at you; they wipe their tears, hoping you never see their fears.
They hope you never reveal their past that they have left in so many places,
I watch for many nights as you coil your hands around their lives,
Placing their happiness just out

The warmest part of part of my body was my hand that was holding her hand.
My dress was swaying side to side, the same direction as my long tied-up hair,
the night was warm with a beautiful windy chill that brushed her shoulders and made both our hair dance
