 | The summer sun is fading fast And too, the heat she does deliver Warmth, in her absence, will not last The thought alone will make me shiver
I wonder where it is she goes, What home it is she travels to? A place of rest at night, she knows Will give her strength for morning new.
I think about the home I keep So sad that place won't do the same For even when I go to sleep My dreams at night are cause to blame
What lonely spot may I find rest To plant my weary aching bones? Relieve the cries of my footsteps To sit upon a wayward stone?
But rest assured, as I was taught There is no rest for fading sun. She sails across the sky, distraught In truth, her journey just begun.
And so you see, we are a pair. Two travellers on endless roads. The sun and I walk in despair Nothing left but the unknown | |
