What they mean is if you love someone, truly love them, then you will force yourself to be what is best for them, even if they do not want it. That simply leaves two questions to be answered: Do you truly love him and do you truly believe that what he needs is not you. I hate to see you sell yourself short, but I know what it is like to love someone yet know that they are better off without me.
