longing for a breath of fresh air

In the early morning before sunrise


I feel lonliness and hunger


Soon I will splash warm water on my face


And look a my weary eyes in the mirror


As the sun begins to shine


I will convince myself that there is hope


But I know I'm lying


I'll invent a purpose for today


Maybe I'll begin throwing things out


or tinker with something that need fixing


I'll check back to see if she's written


And will break my heart once again
