PROGENY

PROGENY

Man gives birth to the progeny,
With manifold dreams of beautiful future,
Little realizing the varied surprises,
Bestowed thereby in us by the mother nature!

The offspring may bring laurels,
But also sometimes disrepute.
It might be some saint hidden therein,
Or may herald an era of dispute!

The blame or credit may follow,
The destiny plays its own part.
You can’t but just try your best,
Most depends on the child smart!

The result thereof in both cases however,
May make you distraught.
For, the rewards are claimed as their own hardwork,
While (in the process) all your lifetime savings may depart!!!

CIX.
Children of Olden Years

Progeny may lay claim on all that is elders’,
While all they earn is their own.
Parents might have willingly given them the whole world,
Yet, even a little requirement of old age may make them frown!

All that is nothing but,
The cycle of life in the passage of time,
We think we could mould it easily,
But it goes on in its own rhythm!

At one end of the cycle,
You are prosperous and strong,
But now in the twilight years,
You are bound to feel weak and down!

There is nothing much you can change,
Except perhaps the values you give,
That will only ensure, depending on their exingencies,
Somewhat cool old age for you to live!

Be of use to them always,
Without making them dependant on you,
Give them in bits and be capable of it,
Never letting them know the incapacities of you!

Being of value gives you an extra edge,
Being of substance give you your prestige,
Noone cares for an useless scrap,
Ready to be thrown off the hedge!!!
(Of course, offspring of substance will not do that)

RELATIONSHIPS

So close yet so far,
Are these loved ones.
So much full of contrast,
Are these worldly relations!

Located closest to your existance,
But always yearning for freedom.
The bond of too much love,
Sometimes brings a lot of boredom!

Distances from the beloved ones,
Bring the pangs of love.
Feeling the pain of separation badly,
Asking always, ‘Aap aoge kab?’

When they come close after long,
They enjoy the game of love again,
Blissfully till eternity thus goes on,
Story of worldly love is all over the same!!!
