There is no hope


 


I know there is not


 


Hope came and went


 


Many times


 


And never meant to stay


 


Hope is just a fleeting thing


 


A quickly fading vision of what life might be


 


That disappears as quickly as you try to grasp for it


 


A vapor that escapes if you hold it loosely


 


Or explodes if you try to hold too tightly


 


Hope is just an illusion
