Re-read and listen to what you wrote. Realize that LOVE is a loaded word....meaning that you can ask 100 people what LOVE means and you will find possibly 100 different explainations. Do you mean sexual love, puppy love, love of family, unconditional love, spiritual love, destined love, fateful love, love of convenience, love of necessity? See?

But you say speak out of both sides of your mouth...One side believing wholeheartedly in LOVE and the other side disbelieving.....Now I ask you...which is it you will belive in?

You bemoan how much you gave and give and "sacrifice" but "gain" nothing. Doesn't that sound selfish? Well it is.... See, you went into love not just because of caring about someone ....but rather for what you thought you wished for and deserved. If you truely love...you will love, trough pain, through sadness, through suffering. For example: If you love your child and they grow to hurt you.....they might bring you sadness and pain...but likely you will still love them....you can't forget when they were your baby.

You will experience less pain in LOVE when you learn the unconditional nature of true care. It's difficult....but you must learn to separate your own wants and wishes from the love you give. The love you give you must give freely. Now your expectations and hopes of being loved in return....keep them. You deserve to be loved like that. It is a rare gift to find but you cannot seek it....it must find you. But if it does.....realize you have found something. Open your heart to it. Nurture it and protect it.

I belive the true love you dream of does have a chance but you've not met the right one yet. But when you love....do so without your enormous hopes which only work to undermine your sense of how the relationship is going. Stop thinking of it as toil and sacrifice because if your own love for another is true....it will be not toil ..but will be just what your heart inspires you to do (as natural as breathing) because you love them.

Now if this makes no sense....I'm sure some day it will. It takes many hearbreaks like you describe to realize that the very thing hurting us is our own hopes and dreams.

LOVE....pure is the very thing that keeps the world spinning around so I think you were closer to LOVE in your first two sentences. Not all love resuts in a relationship....it might just be a simple exchange....it might be a freindship.... it might be smiling at a stranger hanging his head, it might be holding the door open for a man carring boxes, or dooing any good deed for a perfect stranger. LOVE is what is already inside of you.
