there are things in this world that we all fear
mine was having you near
afraid that something would tear down this facade

but as i sit here my apprehensions fade
letting you near was the best day
the best way
cant believe it took so long

why didnt i know
that as i was fighting not to let this show
that all you wanted was for me to take your hand

and as i look into your eyes
trying to find a way to prove
im not like other guys
i realize

that i was afraid of the best for me
the best of me
