What'll I Do ?

Irving Berlin, born in Russia 1888 was probably the most successful composer and lyricist the world has ever seen.
In 1924 at the height of his success he married a young heiress much against her parents wishes.
They eloped and on the first night of their honeymoon on board a ship leaving New York, she tragically died.
That evening after her death, Irving Berlin wrote such classics as "Always", "All alone by the telephone" and the following beautiful and haunting "What'll I do?".........

Gone is the romance that was so divine,
tis broken and cannot be mended.
You must go your way,
And I must go mine.
But now that our love dreams have ended...

What'll I do,
When you are far away,
And I am blue,
What'll I do?

What'll I do?
When I am wondring who,
Is kissing you,
What'll I do?

What'll I do with just a photograph
To tell my troubles to?

When I'm alone,
With only dreams of you,
That wont come true,
What'll I do?

What'll I do with just a photograph,
To tell my troubles to?

When I'm alone,
With only dreams of you,
That wont come true,
What'll I do?
