The ocean calls me far away
so under water but not to play
it is like air,it is like food
it's waves so get me in the mood

The seaguls still are in my mind
they seem to run from all mankind
The world is crazy and so wild
not like the country store so mild

Like Jimi said, a Merman he'll be
and with it he shall carry me
I'll learn his fingers in my head
and never again for war I'll dread

The bombs they kill and maim and mash
all for the money, just for the cash
I long for the waves to set me free
into the deepest eternity

The warfare yes it takes it's tolls
while politicians laugh at the polls
Vote for this one or for that
But in reality, they're all fat

With the greed and hunger too
of owning me and selling you
No one has the best interests at heart
they only would rather keep us apart

From the truth, from the waves
from the peaceful loving knaves
That really know what is to be
and try and tell us so we'll see

But once I'm gone, it will be long
and maybe some will recall my song
For when you leave, heed this I say
Will they remember you anyway?

For centuries man has sailed the sea
and someday it shall carry me
To my island, my haven peace
where all the strife in man shall cease

The horizon is not far away
I've seen it once, but not today
