It was February Twenty Seventh, Nineteen Thirty Five
Things weren’t that great, people were losing lives
My best friend had parents, then lost them so quick
We were too young for this, it made me feel so sick
What is this war you speak of mother? And will I die?
No my dear, that’s not for you to worry, please don’t cry
For reasons unknown my world came crashing down
Not a single citizen would smile, all they do is frown
Im stuck in the middle of a war that I no nothing about
Freedom and peace is all the towns people would shout
Im so terribly scared for reasons that make no sense
The Government disagrees, my cities inside a fence
I’ve lost family and friends for freedoms cost
I hope this brings peace, and loves not lost
There has to be a better way to solve this viscous fight
Im tired of running, and hiding when day turns night
Finally and end to what haunted me so
But no more parents, no where to go
I will pray for peace every night
No more wars, it’s just not right |
