 | The sun to the east and the moon to the west,
The earth was in itself a golden chest,
Nothing could compete with each dawning crest,
But man, he came and destroyed what was best.
He searched for the truth without ceasing,
In the houses of kings and priests he sat feasting.
The birds of the air and the flowers of the fields was his for the leasing,
Yet with his silver idols, My righteousness he kept teasing.
He erected his temples that will never belong.
To the gods of earth and air, he sang their praises with each passing song.
Never realizing the injustice he did to me was wrong.
He was ignorant that MY will was just far too strong.
Because I deserve righteousness from him,
I will send My Son to save them.
At his loving death, the earth, with sorrow, dimmed
Whose gates Hades overflows with shadows so grim.
My Son took captive and freed them from transgression.
This day He's given life and hope and salvation.
Earth and moon, stars and sun dwell in harmonization
For all those who call on His name and the final liberalization.
I found this poem in a stack of papers from my junior year of high school...I had to write as part of a project...Enjoy | |
