A FATHER

Any man can be a Dad, but it takes a special man to become a father

It takes more than conception; you need time and patience, or don’t bother

As we grow older we need love, security and manly protection

All a father expects back is an honest effort not 100% perfection

Fathers teach us life’s ways and how to cope with the bad

They give you needed discipline even though its makes them sad

All to make us a better man and learn from our mistakes

They can’t always hold our hand but do whatever it takes

As we get older they don’t completely let us go

We think they’re not needed, but the truth they know

A helping hand or give some fatherly advice

Knowing you have their support is always nice

A fathers doesn’t always condone or agree with what you do

 They let you make your own decision and help guide you through

Making sure you are safe, and don’t cause yourself pain

Whether it’s in sports or life, they will always train

 I’m one of the lucky ones to be blessed with such a man

I know he can’t always be there but he does what he can

My father gives with all his heart and for me I know he’ll always fight

I Love you Dad.  Thanks for the years of saying everything will be alright
