	Cotton candy, hmm As the guitar played and the mood felt right Beneath the silver stars and the different color lights The children yelling with driven delight You led me by the hand through the fair that night I have never been the best shot But I aimed just right Now its a big bear keeping us company tonight Smiling and laughing, the fun we were having I was overwhelmed within The rides and the cotton candy That was us then The open door, where the coats used to hang Kissing me, I leaned and the doorbell rang Your mothers voice and the hymns she did sang I sat through her whole spill She said that love was precious She would let me stay until ten We would laugh at her til ten thirty That was us then Sitting on the edge of the bed, trying to think it through You are so mad at me, I am trying to explain to you Hurting each other we decided, and never again did we do The hardest times came We made past, we were destined to win We were the real thing That was us then Seeing a future past tense, I am finding you everyday You are all around me, I want you in every way I am holding back nothing, I am here to stay In the swing, your hand in mine Don't leave, you'll cave me in We can keep on loving this way Never say that was us then
