Love Poems
heartbreak pain love

I long ago decided,
To lock away my heart.
Protect it from this thing called love,
So we could never hurt.

But my heart escaped it's prison,
And fled to yours with glee.
I could not make it listen,
It was blind and deaf to me.

And though I tried my hardest,
Still it let down all it's walls.
That was when you made your move,
And smashed it to the floor.

Despite my previous warnings,
Surprising was rejection.
You crushed the very heart of me,
With the depth of your deception.

My heart it came back wounded,
And limped into it's cell.
There it shall stay shackled
For it learnt it's lesson well.
