You look so peaceful when you sleep..

Your arms are wrapped tightly around my body,

I feel your heavy breath on my neck.

I watch your face for hours to see if I can guess what you dream of

But you show no emotion.

I feel your fast heartbeat against my skin and I wonder, if I make you do that.

I envy you, you fall asleep instantly, without a care in the World..

You leave me awake, worrying about everything, replaying back memories I wish I could forget..

I wish I could wake you up and have you hug me and help me but I’ll never waken you,

I’ll let you have your deep sleep while I battle the dark hours away..

I need you, but I don’t, I’m used to these demons by now.

It’s just so hard to know your lying next to me not knowing how much I hurt..

I don’t blame you of course, how are you meant to know when I never wake you.

But I’ll still keep on wishing for the day that you’ll wake up and ask me:

“What’s wrong?”
