 | its a bit long,
The Dance
I remember running through the sunflowers with you
I laughed as you danced with me in the summer rain
Twirling me around and around in the myst
Right into your heart, leading me inside of you
You made me feel like I was home, made me belong
Forget the earth, and all my hurt
You took me by the hand and gently pulled me along
I would dance with you forever and a day
Brought down my wall, the sound is so loud as it crashes
The stones hit the ground. the heat of the fire burned it down
A beautiful wreckage, burnt to ashes
Whispers of the past, so quiet now
I remember falling asleep on your chest
To the consistent sound of your heartbeat
It reminded me how much I was blest
How safe I was from everyone, just being in your arms
No one could ever steal that away
I was yours, you were mine
You had my heart, you had my soul
I would sleep with you forever and a day
I would give up everything just to be next to you
There is no where else that I would rather be
When your lonely, I'll follow you
Dancing our way into the darkness
Nothing could take that away from us
Can't take our love, our dreams
We had our own world
Where nothing was as bad as it seemed
I remember, like yesterday seeing you lying in a hospital bed
Weaker and weaker your heartbeat became
You looked up at me with sorrow filled eyes
Regret seeping through you bandages, wrists neatly torn to shreds
Touching your face, I say "You don't need to say sorry"
I was beside you as you danced into the shadows
Never to return, my tears were left on your shoulder
I would lie next to you forever and a day
Everyone says I'm not the same, they keep looking the person I was
She'll never be found
Everything that she ever loved has been taken
And laid in the ground
The pain has never ceased, it probably never will
I’ll hold close to my heart the memories that we made
I wish you could have stayed longer, even for a minute
When I close my eyes I hear your voice like a serenade
Even after time has slowly passed, with still so much to do
I still see the rain silently falling , spreading your wings and taking my body in
The drops illuminating each petal, I don’t ever want to leave that place
I’m still dancing with you | |
