Darkness comes-
Always getting its way
Seeps into my vision
And blocks the light away-
The light of hope
And the light of day-
People come by the masses
With cutting words, speeches
    and problems unresolved -
Everything becomes a strangling blur
More and more problems
    and no cure.
No one seems to want to fight
For what is true and right
All trying to take the easy way out
Lookin' for a bigger bite
Always tryin' to bring you down
Always tryin' to make you drown...
Sometimes... they succeed
But only temporarily
Because eventually
The light returns
And our journey continues
As we unlock our doors.
