And the misery you make me feel
It is surreal -
How can your words of cruelty
Bitterness and hate
Bring me so far down
How can you make me drown
Or suffocate
With the things you say...
Why is it always this way??
That what others think of us
Ends up becoming our reality.
Why do your words
Forever keep ringing in my ears
Like scars they'll forever be there -
Affecting today and tomorrow -
Causing my sorrow to seep into my happiness -
Somehow your words I fear
Will be on the tongues of others whom are dear -
In fear -
I plug my ears
So I don't have to hear your condenscending words
Of hate and bitterness.
In an attempt to save my self-esteem
I stop expressing thoughts
Stop expressing feelings
In an attempt to avoid hearing you tell me I am stupid
And know nothing.
You go out of your way
To bring others down
To burst their bubble
To erase their smile -
But I'm determined to not let you win -
Determined not to let your words
Forever scar me
