When a heart beats poetically,
Through the knowing eyes
Of the imaginative

Then everything from the profound
To the mundane
Become moments to take note of
And reflect upon

No matter if it's merely a speck of dust
Our minds spin to dance within a ray of sunlight
Shining through our kitchen window,
Or if it's the most beautiful miracle
Changing your life
With every single beat from hope's tiny heart.

Poetry takes these moments
And reifies them into something far greater
Than reminiscent whisperings,
Or echoed nostalgia.

Poetry retains them as part of your spirit
So not even death can detract
From these times of beauty and grace.
