Secret

I'm awake but you're still sleeping,
like the secret you’ve been keeping.
You wait so long to tell me
the words I yearn to hear.
Whisper in my ear
Brush your cheek across mine
Hold me close
Keep me warm
Never let me go.
The night is wild,
outside breeze is chilling.
My heart beats with yours,
each racing hearbeat
perfectly together.
We lay here undiscovered,
from eyes of others.
It seems surreal,
Not real.
And when you awaken,
You hold me tight
Pull me close
Sweep the hair from my face,
your scent exploding through my body.
Your eyes tell me everything,
filled with patient desire.
I hope you can tell from my eyes too,
I’ve been keeping a secret-
I love you.
