So true...This is what I do all the time push people away at arms length. I give them the world if I love you or not, but I make sure you do not destroy my heart by not giving it to you in the first place. I stick to reality that people are not what they seem. Time will tell, you get tested in a nice way to see if the loyalty of friendship is there first...Then I let go...But people so not give time to move to this time they prefer to spend it in shallow, superficial relatioships so they can have many...The amount of friends do not say anything but the quality of the few are more important to me. I think it's a shame we have to be guarded and I miss the innocence of youth. If you keep your heart open you get hurt often but I try to be open to others...though I'm a loner by nature. I have few friends but the ones I have are dear to me despite age or distance. Quality trumps quantity, that's true.
