RAPA ON THE BUSH!
Forgive them for they couldn’t see
Sorry for them for they will here from me
The cloud was dark, we know.
Where is my portion after nine months.
I and my rapa on the bush
Think again! Think again! Of the pain when you push.
I cried till death on the stream side.
But when I survive, you will here from me.
My blood betrayed my destiny.
I will never forgive you my dearest blood.
Bring me not here at all.
I will be glad
Throw me out there to all
I will be sad
The song I sang for you
You will hear no more
I and thereafter, you will never see.
When shall you have comfort?
When will you be convenient?
Oh killer of my soul!
Helpless child and the heartless mum.
With ignorance in a big bowl
I am gone! You are free !
For I will threaten your silence
Your peace, I turn to pieces.
With memories of pain on labours day
I give to your thought everyday
For this kingdom am in
You can never come in.
I came with a pot of gold
You threw me out to the cold
I came to be the savior
You mistook me to be your failure
I came with a bright light
You gave me a dark night.
Your ignorance is your hindrance
Oh earthly ignorant mum !
You need great deliverance
I have come and go
But I depart with great sorrow
What I depart with
I left for your tomorrow.
INTERPRETATION OF THE GNOMIC POETIC STANZA.
In this poem titled “rapa on the bush”, the poet speaks with a vexed spirit to the circumstance of new born babies, that are thrown away by ignorant mothers. The situation and feelings of the thrown away babies, he explained poetically. In this poem, the poet was succinct enough to show that most of these babies that are rejected could be a saviours to many problems the world is facing today, Infact the poem is a poem dedicated to the crying souls of babies who have died as a result of been thrown away on the bush, stream side or by way of abortion. But it is a lesson to potential mothers out there, to change their attitude, for children are God’s special gift to man. |
