Pretend

Let's pretend,
We're just going to be friends,
When inside we long to be drifted apart,
Because of the way we felt
But days go by
And we still wonder,
Why we stay
In the presence of each other
We keep pretending
All the feelings are gone,
But we know they're locked in our hearts
And secure in our minds
We keep pretending we're blind
Just so we can be friends,
Til the end
But we know,
The 'end' is soon,
Because we're dying from our own hearts wounds
Crying out in misery,
And laughing at our own defeat
But,
We put our strong face on,
And hold our own
For we both know,
Deep,
Deep inside,
That what we feel,
Are just the lies,
We told each other,
A thousand times again.
