Pieces


I trusted everything


But in the blink of an eye trust was gone


I have begun to pick up the pieces of my heart


To let go what I held so dear


The day still dawns


And hope is whispered on the wind


I realize now that it meant nothing


Although it hurts, I am a fighter


I want to give thanks


For I am now stronger and wiser


I understand now that everything I wanted


I already had 


I appreciate how blessed I am


My heart can forgive, but won’t ever forget
