Only in Secret he's mine


	There's this wonderderful man, his name is John. He is only 2 years and 5 months older than me, I'm 18, so it's not illegal. We met in high school I was in grade nine, we liked eachother for a long time, unfortunately my mom disaproved of him greatly and then things started going downhill went she came to pick me up after school and saw us holding eachother passionately (cheesey I know, but gropping wasn't really romantic). So she became a furious monster as I like to say. We had to break it off, my mom made sure of that. She monitered my phone and msn conversations, she even spoke to several teachers she knew to watch and make sure I wasn't "doing anything" (who does that?) So 2 years later everything is in the past(except for my mom still hates John), and we're going back out, we love eachother greatly. Our relationship is still so secretive we barely talk. It doesn't make sense to me why my mom hates the one I love, but loves the guys who I don't want to date. Love has a way of creeping up on us when we least expect it, old flames find a way back to us. I refuse to give up on John and he won't give up on me, I hope one day I can make my mom see what a great thing I have and how wondeful he is, but I'm scared that when she finds out, my family will hate me and I'll never see them again because I choose to be with him. Am I wrong? Should I listen to my mom? or my heart? I'm confused scared, and hoplessly in love. I hope one day I'll write on here saying how great everything is and how my mom came around and finally gave John a chance.

That's a really tough situation..

Maybe i'm wrong but if I was in your shoes I would first have a serious talk with my mom and tell her why I love him and ask her why she doesn't like him. If she won't come around at all, I'd say you should go with the guy but be careful. (c)

Even though I love my family a lot, they have their own lives to live (including mom) and you have to make your own life and your mom can't be there for you every second. If you really love this guy you have to do whatever it takes to be with him even though your mom doesn't like it.(c)

Tell your mom you love and respect her but you really love his guy and if she can't accept it, then she doesn't really love you and want you to be happy.

thanks for that advice! You seem very insightful and understanding. Although, my mom is on the crazy side, it may take more action than words.
