we started out friends

then it became more

now we cant go back

we cant even be friends

we cant even pretend

we can control our feelings

will the pain ever stop?

losing you hurt like hell

can we ever really take it back

all the hurtful words & actions?

no we cant but maybe

what we felt was real

for if it really was love we felt

maybe we can overcome our pain

and be happy again

you say that we can not be only friends

i thought maybe you were in love too

but when i ask why you get quiet

then you say b/c we have history

a long time ago

you said that love never dies

i believe you

the way i feel isnt going no where

but how you feel is so hard to see

why do you hide it from me?

if you truly do not care about me

tell me it can not hurt anymore

then not knowing how you feel

you say some of the dumbest things

but they put the goofiest smiles on my face

why dont you love me anymore

i dont see how you can kiss me with such passion

then become so cold fish

i guess it never pays to fall in love

after you break with someone

i would do anything to have you back

that you truly dont understand
