Once Before

I should have seen you coming
It’s happened once before
You tell me that you love me
As your walking out the door

“I’ll be home around an hour”
“I’m just going out with friends”
Then, you come home in the morning
And you lie to me again

I smell that cheap perfume
I see lipstick on your collar
You just sit there laughing at me
As, I look at you and holler

“Who the hell have you been screwing”?
“Don’t you have a heart”?
You get together with another
As your tearing me apart

Why can’t you be faithful?
Why can’t you keep your word?
You said, you’d never do this
Now you’re flipping me the bird!

Doctor Jekyll, Mister Hyde…
Which one shall you be tomorrow?
As I’m packing up my bags
You grab a beer and take a swallow

Where do you think your going?
Don’t you want to hear me out?
I tell you “go to hell”!
As, I struggle to get out

“Don’t lay another hand on me”!
You’re soon going to regret it!
My pistol’s in my suitcase
And I’m just about to get it

You throw your beer can at me
That straw broke the camels back
I point the barrel at your head
As, I see everything go black

The next thing I remember…
I hear sirens in my head
I am questioned by police
As to why I shot you dead

First I heard “I love you”…
“I’m just going out with friends”
He had the best time of his life…
I thought, It best his life should end!
