Oh Lord, it’s so hard. 
They make it so hard to love, sometimes. 
Sometimes I just want to give up, to give in to the bitterness
They hate me so deeply, their anger is so hot
They beat me, they mock me, they betray my trust, 
they take me right to the edge of my sadness,
to where it is almost gone, and I have almost forgotten, 
then they drop me once again. 
First they put a warm, gentle, loving hand on over my heart, 
Till I feel comforted and accepted and appreciated, 
but then they clinch it and rip it from my chest.

They find fault when there is nothing faulty, 
They get mad, when I have done nothing wrong,
They judge me, before I even have a chance to perform
They hate me for things I have no control over

I find someone who I think understands me, who accepts who I am, when other won’t
And I think they will stay, I boldly give Hope that they will stay… but they don’t

But Lord, you are so such a hard Rock
We make it so hard to love us, sometimes
They gave in to the bitterness, and the rescentment
They hated you so deeply, their anger so hot
They beat You, they mocked you, your friends betrayed your trust.
They took You right to the edge of death, and human capacity,
to where Your life was almost gone, and your face almost indistinguishable,
They praised you upon your entrance to the city, 
and then dropped you within days
First they layed palm leaves at your feat, 
and then they soon drove nails through your hands.

But you loved them anyway


You see good, in the most ‘horrible’ people
You see beauty, in what seem the ugliest things
You show grace, when we earn so much, your anger
You saw our faulty ways, before time began, and though having judged us, gave mercy, while we still were sinners  


You are someone who understands me, 
who loves me enough to empathize with every pain and sorrow I feel, when no one else can or will. 
Sometimes I doubt your presence and your plan, and think that you won’t stay… you do anyway

Oh Lord, teach me to Love like you do. 
To show love, when no one seems to deserve it
Show me beauty, when my eyes and heart tell me it is all ugly.
SHow me good in others, when my mind tell me they are worthless and evil
Teach me to trust enough to be close to others, for THEIR sakes, even when they are untrust worthy, and I 'KNOW' they will hurt me.
To show mercy endless times, even when people take my love for granted
