 | Behind the clouds, the moonlight shines, and steals its furtive glance.
His eyes meet hers, without a word, and speak of true romance.
They walk along, hand in hand, and locked in his embrace,
the ocean sings of what's to be, he bends to kiss her face.
Reaching closer, arm outstretched, she gently takes his hand,
and there they pause to watch a while, the sea caress the land.
And so they walk, along the shore, and notice clouds roll by,
until at last, the night has passed, she starts to gently cry.
For just as sea, the land can't own, nor could land join the sea,
In their hearts, they always knew, that they could never be.
Now years gone by, each starry night, the ocean sings a tune,
love unfulfilled, but even still, the sun dreams of the moon. | |
