 | I search & try to find myself, but I just cannot see...
who's reflection stares back from the mirror?
There's no way that can be me
I'm not that one with the pain in her eyes
Her misery stares me down as I peek through her disguise.
I watch as the tears overflow down her cheek
Who is this stranger & why is she so weak?
Her lip steadily quivers & her chin is trembling too
She opens her mouth to speak & says, "What you see, is you."
I stare into the mirror & see the shadows of her heart
shredded stips of nothingness torn viciously apart.
Black is the blood that pumps through her last vein
The mirror fills with darkness from the everlasting pain
I'm blinded by her sorrow, I squint my eyes to see
This reflection of emptiness can surely not be me
She breaks into a sweat, only it's blood that trickles down
No one comes to her rescue, there's not a single soul around
All her strength is drained & she collapses to the floor
She let the anguish take control, she can battle it no more
I witnessed this girl drown in her own misery
but it was not until too late... I found this reflection to be ME. | |
