My Love

Caught with an eye
From across the room
A beautiful girl
Appeared so soon
Unknown to this man
All that I knew
Was she was the one
I must talk to

I tried my best
To find out more
Of this lovely lady
Not seen before
Then at a ball
She was standing there
Next to one of my friends
So through her hair

I asked her to tell me
All that she knows
About this lady
She knows. I suppose.
She says she is taken
By a another man
And when I ask her about it
She says,” yes, I am.”

Even though I know
This girl I cant have
Is currently taken
By another man
I cannot get her
Off of my mind
I can’t just leave
This desire behind

So when I hear of a break
Between this woman & man
I move closer to her
To lend her my hand
So we start to talk
One word leads to another
It was then that I realized
That I love her

So I finally asked her
To be with me
Together forever
I said we could be
What happened next
I’d never thought would’ve happened
Now she’s my wife
And our love’s everlasting
