Your spirit lingers in my mind
I know deep down we are entwined
To me you've been so kind

Becasue in my heart you remain my dear friend
The touch we shared acrosss great distance
It remains inside and does not end

Silence echos hard on hearts feeling broken
We wish for words that are rarely spoken
Inside me care for you I securely carry
Sadly missing your smile, I do not vary

Love is a gift I silentely give you free
I know somehow it's meant to be
I hope it means something to you
Because it saddens me to see you blue

My hand is yours to hold if you need to feel touch
My care is real, I know I've felt it's pain so much
God gave us hearts to love, we're meant to care
I deeply treasure anything that we're blessed to share

I've given love and shelter to many
Sometimes I feel empty for it and poor without a penny
Maybe I give what I hope to find
Though life has often been cold and unkind

Still, a few special people stay on my mind
And dance in my heart like morning sun
So if I treat you kind, please know I care
I miss you always and feel you like a special one

Some days though I've found love and care
I still miss you too and long for the fiendship we share
And if such things as love and care are true
I know I carry love for you too

I can't erase the longing to feel your touch and hold your hand
I wish I could be neart to watch you in moments unplanned
I think anyone who has ever taken someone to heart
Might surely relate or understand

My dear freind, no matter what you do
Please know somewhere there is me
Who feels happy when you are near
And who feels so sad to know when you're blue

Whatever connection that we share
I feel it inside so true
I keep it safe inside me because I must somehow
That feeling of love and care I hold for you

I've long ago stopped questioning why
Caring sometimes is lonely and it can still make me cry
I think prayers are answered by and by
So to keep my care for you I always try

I thank God for giving me a heart to feel
Through you I think I felt his touch
To feel your gentle heart and to remember your face
I feel he touched me with his grace

If you should find true care in life, it's so sublime
It is rare and isn't felt all the time
I care for you as if you were mine
And accept all judgement for that if caring is a crime

In this world so helter-skelter
If you might feel my care,  I'd long to  give you shelter
And in my hopes I think of you oft
Imagining that your warm touch would also be so soft
