 | It is May 2012. She just turned twenty-one and he is twenty-four. There they dance hand in hand at the start of their new life together. A few small tears stream down their parents faces as they watch their babies turn another chapter in there lives. It would not be much different though; they had been living together and engaged since she graduated in 2009. The only difference is now they would be called husband and wife. The title they had longed for since the day they met. Speaking of the day they met, let’s rewind a little.
It was the summer after eighth grade. Miss Average was fourteen and ready to move on to high school in the fall. She had been raised more mature then most the people in her grade. She was looking for someone older that she could relate to at a different level. She was sick of all the drama of middle school and ready to grow up.
Most of her relatives lived in Wells, Minnesota a town of about two thousand people. She loved going there in the summer; it meant more friends and more boys. She was right, at her Cousin Sr. CarFreak’s graduation she started talking to his best friend the most amazing guy she had ever met. She had an immediate crush on Mr. Amazing, but new he was way out of her league. He was seventeen and just finishing his junior year. Why would he be interested in her? She was just a little girl, not pretty, and not much different than any other girl he had met before, or so she thought.
Throughout the night they sat in the back of his little, black, Chevy truck talking and laughing. To her surprise they had a lot in common and she loved his sense of humor. With Mr. Amazing’s permission, Sr. CarFreak got in the cab, started the truck, and drove off to get his girlfriend. Mr. Amazing said the only reason he was letting Sr. CarFreak drive was because he did not want to leave her in the tuck bed alone. Sr. CarFreak was taking some pretty sharp turns and some how Miss Average ended up much closer to him. Which was fine with her, she was cold anyways. He could tell, so he put his arm around her and asked if she was uncomfortable. She looked up and said “Not at all,” but squinted because the street lights were blinding her. He put his hand up to block the light and she suddenly felt a huge sense of security all over. Then he looked down at her and said “Would it be okay if I kissed you?” she gently nodded, and they had one of those beautiful romantic kisses, like you see in the movies. She felt the goose bumps go up and down her spine she did not ever want that moment to end. It was the most incredible moment of her life. She didn’t know what it was. She had kissed guys before but never had that effect....
