Mother

She tried so hard to make it work
Her love could have filled up every soul in the world
But then she gave it all up
After trying so hard, she'd just had enough
No matter what she did he never agreed
He treated my mother like his property
He didn't help with the new baby
Always pretending he owned my brothers and me
He hit, yelled, screamed a punched
No matter what she did it was never enough
Now she walks alone
Struggling to find her way back home
