The day after Christmas
Everything is sunny
The sadness of yesterday
feels a little less
owed this only to kindness

Kindness is the gift
that surpasses all others
as simple and free as a smile
a handshake
a pardon
a courtesy
a kind word
a helping hand
a gentle kiss
the wiping of a teardrop
softness
bravery
humility

Keep someone in your heart
Make today count for a little more
Let kindness guide your way
