Just Friends

When the day I met you,
Thinking of you is what I’ll always do
Expecting from you
That more than friends we could be

After a month
I found out you love a girl
Hoping that girl is me
Later on, I met that girl and it’s my best friend

It’s been hard for me
But I’ll have to accept
This acceptance I gave
Is for the friendship we’ve had

Now, it’s clear to me
That only friend we could be
Thank you for the friendship you gave
I love you as a friend is all I can say.
