IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE

If you have a chance in life to be kind to someone
be kind to them
If you have a chance to make someone smile
make them smile
If you have a chance to hold their hand or notice their teardrop
wipe it from their eyes and hold their hand
hold it gently and from the heart
this is the way God loves us

The teardrop you wipe from their eyes...may be your own.
The warmth of their hand may warm your own heart
The kindness you share may flow back to you
And the smile you see may make you smile inside twice for the smile you gave
Kindness that is genuine and given freely
has a ripple effect and it grows

One day life will be over
someone will recall only that you were kind to them
In that spirit, they will be kind to somone else
and the world will smile a little more and be brighter for someone
and that's the point
to leave the world a little bit brighter than when you found it
life is after all a short journey

How can we expect the world to be kind unless we too strive to be kind to others?
As love begins in one's own heart...so too does kindness
