I’m Sorry

I can’t get any clearer
Than by simply saying
“I’m Sorry” to you.
Are you still confused?

You know why I say
These words towards you.
You’re hurt and
So am I.

For whatever wrong I did.
And for the stupid things I have done.
I’ll say it again.
Maybe you’ll see now.

By myself I learned
To swallow my pride.
But because of you
I actually tried.

It hurts to see you in pain.
I apologize for feeling sympathy.
I’m Sorry I actually paid attention
And that I actually cared.

I thought you wanted someone
To understand and to care.
Someone you could go and talk to.
Someone who knows your pain.

Not another word of this.
So I’ll shut up after
I say this;
I’m Sorry I wasn’t good enough.
